Churston Builders – The Torbay and South Hams Builder. Substantial Two-storey Extension in Langley Avenue, Brixham
Churston Builders built this contemporary two-storey extension with a glass balustraded deck to create a fantastic facade to the rear of the property with views overlooking Tor Bay.
This substantial two-storey extension was architect designed by Hendriksen Chartered Architects & Designers of Brixham to revamp this 1950s property by giving it a statement facade. The new look is on-trend and as well as looking fantastic it includes a spacious interior with fantastic access to the decked area entirely suited for modern family life. The large glazed area give fantastic views over the town of Brixham and across Tor Bay. The glass balustrade means even when there’s a whisper of wind that outdoor dining on the deck is still comfortable.
Extensions are a very popular way to add space and value to your home – from expanding your ground floor living space with a single-storey extension or building a full two-storey extension. An important question to ask when thinking about any major home improvement project is how much value does an extension add to your home? You might not be building the extension to sell your house primarily – and often quite the opposite is true but if you intend to borrow money for the project your lender will assess the added value for you. Most people extend their properties in order to improve their standard of living and make space for a growing family.
Get an accurate picture of how much value your extension could add, by speaking to local property experts, builders and architects for professional advice. You’ll also need to find out the current market value of your home, as well as its potential value once the changes have been made.
To further enhance the property we returned in the Summer of 2021 to create a parking compound, large timber framed workshop and a deck to catch more of the afternoon sun at the foot of the garden – read about this project here.
