Churston Builders – The Torbay and South Hams Builder. Storage Compound, Timber Outbuilding and Groundworks in Langley Avenue, Brixham
Our customer wished to convert land at the rear of their property into a storage compound equipped with a substantial timber outbuilding and parking for cars and their camper van.
The first task was to create access into the site by removing a section of stone built wall bordering the road. The remaining wall would be refinished to maintain the character of the area but would be strengthened and mated to new rendered and capped piers. Work commenced on the dig out which would involve removing over 300 cubic meters of red Devon soil and shale to create a level base for the project. A Nudura concrete form wall and additional blockwork walls were specified to retain the area making for an efficient and economic solution. On completion of the retaining walls contemporary timber fencing was added as well as a composite sun deck to the rear of the compound. The remaining grounds above the compound were landscaped and turfed and an existing stone paved garden path extended to access the new compound area.
The majority of the compound was compacted for a gravel top layer whilst the entrance was completed with charcoal pavers. To the righthand side a concrete base was poured for the log cabin style workshop and garage timber outbuilding. The workshop was constructed by our carpentry team and finished with full insulation and uPVC doors and windows.
