Churston Builders – The Torbay Builder, undertook this extensive internal refurbishment and property renovation job in Spring 2015.
The majority of the interior of the house required re-plastering, rewiring, replacement windows and sills and general renovation. Churston Builders also carried out interior remodelling to combine rooms to create a larger ground floor living space as well as a family bathroom from a separate bathroom and wc.
The property was first stripped internally and all plaster work either replaced or made good. Where old windows had allowed water in sections of brick and mortar were replaced.
Wiring was upgraded and all fittings were chased into the plaster to avoid use of unsightly trunking.
The original bathroom and toilet were combined to form a large family wet room. The floor surface was tanked to ensure 100% watertightness. The walls were finished with contemporary matt finish tiling and alcoves were built into the shower space to accommodate toiletries.
Within the living accommodation the refurbishment included utilising the houses fireplaces to house both a log-burning stove and a modern gas fire.
As well as fitting contemporary features many of the properties original features were restored and enhanced, including the staircase and original cove ceilings which were re-plastered to a very high standard by Churston Builders’ experienced team.
